ImageBrowserProBeta user guide

Arrange the workspace, views, and preferences

Use the workspace controls to make the current take readable. You need an open folder; controls that require a selection or an optional plugin can be unavailable until their prerequisite is met.

Arrange your view

  1. Open a folder. Choose Grid view, Image Wall, or List view in Control Nav. Grid is useful for repeated-size comparisons; Image Wall emphasizes image shape; List supports metadata-column inspection.
  2. Adjust the thumbnail-size slider. Open the Preview inspector when you want file details beside the grid. Drag panel dividers to give the photograph or metadata more room.
  3. Show or hide the folder sidebar with its visible control. Reopen a collapsed inspector with its tab. Folder tabs retain separate sources; verify the active tab before an operation.
  4. Open Customize Control Nav to change the lower action row. Add/remove tiles, drag to reorder, or use the provided movement buttons. Choose icons, text, or both. The row supports up to 20 saved slots and scrolls horizontally on narrow windows.
  5. Use Restore defaults in that chooser to restore its standard controls. This does not reset the entire app. Context-specific controls remain subject to their normal availability rules.
  6. Open Settings → Display for theme and grid/card/list details. Choose which details you want to see. Badge visibility is display-only; it does not remove metadata from your files.

Find the relevant settings

License holds activation information. User Profile is hidden in the current beta. Ingest, IPTC Templates, Workflow Presets, and Import & Export govern intake and delivery defaults. Metadata governs Info fields and required-field profiles. Watermark configures delivery marks. Notifications and AI Services can be hidden or disabled in beta builds. App Defaults includes external-editor, editing-profile and sticky-note preset choices. Shortcuts, Performance, Burst Detection, DNG Tools, Troubleshooting, and Plugins hold the corresponding controls. Additional sections depend on loaded plugins.

Change one area at a time, then return to the workflow and confirm the effect. Some preferences are retained immediately rather than waiting for an app-wide Save button. Hidden controls or fields may still have saved values.

Check and recover

Reopen Settings to confirm the chosen preference and reopen the affected view. Use Tab to reach controls, visible focus indicators to locate the active control, and the app's shortcut reference for current bindings. Do not test global hotkeys while typing a caption. If a control seems missing, check selection, plugin availability, narrow-window scrolling, and your customization settings. See metadata visibility, tone profiles, plugins, and support.
