Beta help

Check your version and install an optional update

Use the update workflow provided with your invited build. You need a valid license where required, network access for the authenticated feed, and time to finish current file operations. Installing an update is separate from saving your photographic work.

Check and update

  1. Finish or safely stop ingest, export, metadata writes, and other active jobs. Save current work and retain your normal backups.
  2. Check the installed version/build through the app's About or License/update information. Include that identity in support reports.
  3. Use the available Check for Updates action for your build. Read the result and release notes before deciding to install.
  4. If an update is offered, follow its download/install prompts. Keep the app and connection available until the requested restart.
  5. Reopen the app and confirm the new version. Open a small known folder and check the workflow important to you before returning to deadline work.
  6. If your beta contact supplies a replacement installer instead, follow the provided installation instructions and confirm that you opened the copy in Applications.

Understand the result

No published release or an unavailable feed is not proof that your local photos are damaged. Updates use the app-scoped licensed route for builds that require it; do not paste a license token into an arbitrary download URL. Optional updates are distinct from permanent ownership of the app's core capabilities and from time-limited beta entitlements.

Plugin availability can change by build/profile. Use Plugins to inspect the actual installed tools. A new RAW recognition catalog does not prove full decoding support for every camera/compression variant.

Verify and recover

Record the installed version, requested version, and exact update error if the process fails. Keep the known installer and follow the provided support/rollback instructions rather than deleting application data. A downloaded artifact, a completed installer, and a successfully reopened updated app are separate checks. Do not assume an update finished because a notification disappeared.
