Export finished photographs and contact sheets

1. Export creates delivery files from your selection. Before starting, have the required format, dimensions, naming, quality, and metadata instructions from the recipient. Use a separate output folder so finished copies remain distinguishable from originals.

Export a batch

1. Open the final Selection Set or select the intended images in the grid. Confirm the selected count and sequence.
2. Choose Export in the header and select Local Export. Check that the listed images are the intended local files, not remote preview-only results.
3. Choose the output folder and format. Normal batch choices include JPEG, PNG, and WebP. A HIF/HEIF selection restricts the selector to JPEG; do not expect TIFF output.
4. Set the requested size, quality, filename pattern, and sequence numbering. Check the preview/example before starting. Resizing a copy does not change the source dimensions.
5. Review metadata choices. Include the caption, credit, rights, and other information required for this delivery. For a watermark, configure it under Settings → Watermark and enable it for this export.
6. Start export and read the completion/errors. Keep IBP open while it processes the batch.
7. Open actual output files. Check count, name, dimensions, orientation, crop, appearance, and metadata. Inspect several files, not only the first.

Make a contact sheet

Select the intended images and choose Contact Sheet from Choose Export, or use the corresponding grid context action. Review the sheet layout and labels, then save the result. Set-level review PDFs can include image commentary and an overall note; use Review backups when that feedback is the purpose of the handoff.

Defaults and ownership

Local Batch Export normally leaves the current grid open. Preferences → Import & Export → Open exported folder after export opts into changing the grid to the destination. A rendered copy is different from a workflow package containing originals and sidecars. Saving a preview or recipe is not proof that a finished delivery file exists.

Troubleshooting

If the output is missing, inspect the destination and error result, including available space and write permissions. If a HIF adjustment is unavailable, create the supported JPEG copy and work on that, or use a compatible external editor. If creative export is blocked, inspect the editing profile.
