Exchange an Edit Binder or preview Share Box

IBP Collaboration is an opt-in preview exchange between a photographer and picture editor. It may be unavailable in your build or disabled at startup. Have the enabled workflow and a clear agreement about whether the recipient needs preview review, editable review data, or actual originals.

Prepare and review a binder

1. Open the included collaboration/Edit Binder workflow and create or open the intended workspace from the available selection.
2. Check that the previews correspond to the correct assignment. Use Earlier and Later to refine their sequence.
3. Select a photograph and set Rating and Edit decision. In, Keep, and Out describe inclusion and consideration in the edit.
4. Under Comments, choose image, sequence, or workspace scope, enter the note, and choose Add Comment.
5. Export the next binder version through the workspace action. Reopen it and verify sequence, comments, and decisions before sending it.
6. On receipt of a returned binder, inspect the review choices before arranging original delivery. Decisions do not automatically send the photographer's original files.

Share previews through your cloud

Use the existing connected Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive account for the Share Box action. The workflow publishes ordered preview JPEGs and a share-box.json manifest into the selected provider folder. Confirm the account/folder and the recipient's permission. The app does not automatically make it public.

A recipient browsing an accessible Share Box can open the validated previews as an ordered ongoing Selection Set. Reopening the same provider folder refreshes the imported set instead of intentionally creating a new unrelated set. Previews are managed local copies, not full originals.

Persistence and boundaries

Review decisions/comments belong to the collaboration workspace and exported binder, not automatic metadata writes into the photographer's originals. Cloud credentials are not carried in the exchange data. This workflow is different from core image-free .ibpcritique files and Picture Desk boards; use Critique Binders for shared-folder classroom revisions.

Verify and troubleshoot

Try one small exchange first. Reopen both sent and returned versions and confirm order, comments, and image identity. For a missing Share Box, check provider sync, manifest validity, and recipient access. If the recipient needs originals, arrange that as a separate reviewed delivery rather than assuming preview download fulfilled it. See Cloud Storage and Review backups.
