Play voice memos, transcribe audio, and review clips
Use companion voice memos to recover spoken caption information, and the core media viewer for supported video clips. Have local media and any required transcription runtime/model installed. Codec and helper availability affect playback and export.
Use a voice memo
- Open the image folder. A detected companion audio file appears with a speaker badge on its photograph.
- Open the image and use the audio playback controls. Listen before relying on the recording for names or facts.
- Open the available transcription workflow and start transcription for the intended audio file. The local Whisper workflow requires a usable runtime and model.
- Read the result while listening to unclear phrases. Correct names, numbers, and punctuation before using the text.
- Apply only the intended transcript/caption text through the normal metadata workflow and save.
- Reopen the photograph's metadata and check what was written. A generated transcript is not automatic factual verification.
Edit and export a video
Open a local video from the mixed-media grid and use the playback controls to review it. Choose Edit in OpenCut to open ImageBrowserPro's editing window. The video is copied into OpenCut project storage, leaving the original in place. Arrange the timeline, choose Export, save a new file, and play that file to check its picture, sound, and compatibility.
The older Clip edit controls and Video Shot Analysis are no longer available in the viewer. OpenCut projects remain on this computer; do not clear ImageBrowserPro's editor storage while troubleshooting.
Stored data and options
Voice transcription is a required core-backed module and is separate from enabling the optional Assistant Engine. The transcript and a saved metadata caption have different persistence steps. A companion file must remain locatable for playback. OpenCut exports a new file; it does not change the selected original.
Troubleshooting
If there is no memo badge, confirm the companion name/location and supported file type. If transcription fails, read the runtime/model error rather than repeatedly saving an empty caption. If a clip cannot play, check codec/helper availability and test in an appropriate external player without changing the extension. Preserve the original audio/video while diagnosing.
